Meet Linda Bodie

I’m a lifelong West Virginian

West Virginia isn’t just where I live; it’s who I am. Born and raised in the Mountain State, I’ve experienced the beauty and challenges of our rugged hills and tight-knit communities. From a young age, I learned the value of hard work, resilience, and looking out for my neighbors. West Virginia has shaped my values, my beliefs, and my deep commitment to making our state a place where everyone can thrive. My roots run deep here, and every day, I’m motivated by the people and places that make West Virginia so special.

I’m a wife and mom

Family is my foundation. I’m blessed to share my life with my wife, Brenda, and our daughter, Tabitha, who brings joy and purpose to everything I do. Being a mom has taught me patience, strength, and the importance of creating a world where all our children can feel safe, loved, and supported. My family fuels my passion for making West Virginia a better place for future generations.

I’m a credit union geek

As a lifelong advocate for financial inclusion, I’ve spent my career leading Element Federal Credit Union, where we focus on empowering our members and fostering community growth. I’m passionate about financial wellness and believe that everyone deserves access to affordable and equitable financial solutions. My work isn’t just about numbers; it’s about people—helping them achieve their dreams, protect their futures, and build strong, vibrant communities. I’m proud to bring my expertise and innovative spirit to the table as I seek to serve on Charleston City Council.

Linda received the 2023 Herb Wegner Memorial Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement and making a lasting impact on the credit union movement.

I have a lifelong passion for helping people

Helping others isn’t just something I do—it’s who I am. I’ve always been driven by a desire to make a positive impact. I believe in the power of kindness, collaboration, and action. Throughout my life, I’ve worked to lift others up, create opportunities, and ensure that everyone has a fair shot. This passion fuels my dedication to public service and my commitment to fighting for my Charleston community.

In 2023, Linda was inducted into the “Credit Union Women Making History: Herstory” in America’s Credit Union Museum.

I love music

I’ve always loved music because, for me, it’s all about joy and connection. Learning to play the steel drums years ago unlocked a uniquely uplifting way to bring people together and create a true sense of community. Whether I’m performing with St. Marks Steel or alongside my wife, Brenda, as The Pan Demics, I’ve seen how music can break down barriers and unite people from all walks of life. The rhythmic energy of the steel drums fills me with happiness, reminding me that music isn’t just something we hear—it’s something we feel, with the power to connect us all.

We formed The Pan Demics during COVID and took our music to the street for all our neighbors to enjoy.
